They're doing their part and spending money...


"At the end of a lengthy meeting at a luxury resort outside London, the so-called Group of 20 nations, who together represent about 85 percent of the world economy, failed to offer specifics about the size or timing of coordinated economic stimulus, and some major players, including Germany and France, remain deeply reluctant to add to their national debt." (via this article from the New York Times).

So, did they think that by using luxury resorts as meeting grounds they could magically reduce national debt? Of course they have to meet somewhere, and I'm sure that the location provides necessary security from the unemployed masses, but surely the local Sheraton would be a bit more in keeping with the subject than this lovely place? Also interesting that every single article made a point of calling it a "luxury" resort...
